Bananas Foster


1/2 cup brown sugar

2 tablespoons butter


4 bananas, peeled and diced

(After peeling the bananas, slice them into 4 spears lengthwise. Then cut them into 1 cm thick pieces.)


1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/8 teaspoon nutmeg


2 ounces banana liqueur

4 ounces dark rum


Melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat. Add bananas and sauté until tender.  Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg. 


Pour the alcohols over the bananas and flame. Baste until the flame goes out. 



Note: This bananas foster recipe contains less butter than many recipes. This allows you to make the bananas foster ahead of time and refrigerate it.
